Join us in cleaning up and beautifying our communities! Caltrans District 2 would like to invite you to participate in "Clean California Community Days", a statewide event. Communities across the state are encouraged to create new habits that reflect pride, learn about proper trash disposal, environmental impacts, and discuss with neighbors how to improve their community.
Everyone is encouraged to join us in this statewide call-to-action! Pledge to pick an area to clean up, do some landscaping, or plant a garden. The activity can be as big or as small as you wish! Work alone or in a group but be sure to snap some photos and share them on Facebook and tag Caltrans District 2. You can also send us your photos at D2PIO@dot.ca.gov. We look forward to seeing how you transform your community!
If you're interested in complimentary trash bags, please send an email to D2PIO@dot.ca.gov. Be sure to include the number of participants in your clean-up event so that we can gauge how many bags and pickers we are able to share with your group. Supplies are limited.
Clean California invests $1.1 billion for state and local governments to clean up trash and debris statewide, beautify community gateways and public areas along highways, streets and roads and provide good jobs to thousands of Californians. Over three years, Clean California will remove an additional 1.2 million cubic yards, or 21,000 tons of trash from the state system alone. That's enough to fill the Rose Bowl three times over!
