MIN. BIBLE CHURCH Join us as we welcome Sam Ames, New Family Pastor, Jan 9, 10:00 AM Mountain Bible Church has hired a new family pastor! His name is Sam Ames. Sam is married to his beautiful wife Patty and they have a 13 month old baby girl named Joanna. They are thrilled to join the MBC church family. Sam is 28 from San Jose, CA and Patty is from Bakersfield, CA. Sam's parents instilled in him a love for Jesus and for the church. Sam attended Abilene Christian University and Colorado Christian University where he pursued his Bachelors in Biblical Studies with an emphasis in Theology. While pursuing his degree at Abilene Christian he accepted a position as Resident Director at Hume Lake Christian Camps in the summer of 2016. Alongside his team of Resident Director's he oversaw over 400 staff members over 3 different camps. Living at Hume and being able to help lead 400 staff members closer to Jesus was amazing for him. He got to witness first hand lives transformed by the Gospel, and hearts changed forever. After his time serving at Hume he had the opportunity to work for Valley Baptist Church in Bakersfield as the Director of Middle School at the Olive Drive Campus. He loved having the opportunity to shepherd middle schoolers and watch them grow with a hunger for the Gospel and a desire to learn more about Jesus. In 2020 he accepted the position as Youth Pastor at Roots Christian Fellowship. While overseeing the Junior High and High School ministries he was able to create deep relationships with the students and he developed a strong love for the community of Tehachapi. Prior to the dissolution of Roots, he was also given the opportunity to help grow the FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) program at Tehachapi High School. They started 2020 with nearly 30 students and ended the year with around 100 students. They taught students the Gospel of Jesus, showed them the love of Jesus, and encouraged them to be the light on their campus, in their neighborhoods, and in their homes. MBC is thrilled to have the opportunity to employ Sam as its Family Pastor. Sam brings experience of growing student ministries by teaching, leading, disciplining, and having fun! He and Patty can't wait to see what God has in store for their ministry at Mountain Bible Church. He and his family are ready to live the vision of MBC - to Promote Grace, Proclaim the Good News, and Practice Truth in Love. His prayer is that he may be a living example of these three pillars and lead by example for all to see. May Mountain Bible Church be a place where students experience the presence of God and dive deeper into a life long journey of following Jesus.
